Have heard people before say soldiers should break the law and ignore orders. Easy thing to say when it is not your butt on the line.
Which got me to thinking - who funds these wars? We do with our taxes. Tell people not to pay taxes to protest and you are a nut.
Don't file, elect to have no money withheld from your paychecks, and the funds for war could dry up.
I support our military (and want them home) but I don't blame them for agreeing to follow orders and then doing so anymore than I blame anyone else for being against the war and still paying their taxes (most of which go to wars, defense industry contracts, and other things one may not like).
My son is shipping off to Iraq soon (was going to be Afghanistan next year, things changed).
And while I want the wars to end, I don't want that responsibility to fall on our troops to end them - that is not their job. It is not your job to face jail either by not paying taxes to fund it.
It is the job of the people we elected and pay to put into action our wishes. And I know some are trying, kudos to them. Our young people are doing the job they were hired to do.
When will our leaders do theirs?

shouldn't matter who is president and you don't get to pick your wars. Again, no matter who is president.
It's up to us to end the economic draft and prevent or manage wars.
