5. It has really changed since I contributed to it. |

I don't like many of the opinions on NPR. They take a lie from the right as having equal weight as a truth from the left. In the interest of being fair I guess.

6. I contributed to Vermont Public Radio because it has |
|
excellent classical music programs. Not many left, so I encourage.

8. I will never contribute one dime to my local npr station since 9/11/01 |
|
I was in lower Manhattan that morning and was in my office when the planes hit the towers. I had a radio in my office and tuned in to find out wtf to do.
NPR was in its deep whimsy phase in 2001 and even though the local station news department was looking out their windows at what was happening, they continued to broadcast a stupid story about the death of the guy who invented the supermarket scanner, over and over. They kept saying he had "changed the world" even while the world was changing outside their window. Every other local radio station except NPR switched to live news coverage. After an hour, they finally decided to report on what was happening outside their window, but after a few minutes the towers collapsed, taking their transmitter down, and they were off the air in NYC for most of the day.
I sometimes contribute to the local Pacifica station, but I'll never give a dime to WNYC, the NPR affiliate.
