Have to point out this disturbing fact about the Grayson "Epic Win!" video...
which has so far received 155 recs:

Broun had the last laugh, however. His amendment was adopted by a large margin. Grayson voted neither yes nor no, but “present.” And the full bill was reported out.

I mean, it was great stuff. But in the end, an amendment to prevent funds from reaching ACORN (which may not have even been headed there) passed overwhelmingly. If Grayson is right, that means something unconstitutional passed without much fuss, and most likely the attack on ACORN by the right will continue unabated.

1. Yes, and it only makes Grayson's courage stand out even more.

2. Why would Grayson vote "present?" Sounds like grandstanding
but I don't want to think that of Grayson. I adore the guy (and donated to his Money Bomb.)

4. *sigh* and what did they do to Obama for his "present" votes?

5. Obama almost always made a statement from Senate floor explaining
what his position was and what his vote would be. He rarely made an unexplained 'present' vote unless it was done with a larger group as part of a known tactic. I found a lot of those floor statements and it was generally some part he disagreed with or some section that he felt had wording that made it unconstitutional...so though he agreed with itt in essence he couldn't vote for bill

What Obama did not do was explain the issue well when it came up at debate, trying to explain why present was best vote on the single bill that was brought up rather than explain it in general.

Did Grayson make a floor statement explaining his? It is harder to understand a Present vote on a bill or amendment you disagree with because then some erroneous wording doesn't matter, you vote no. aybe there was a part in it that was very good?

6. What would they of done to him if he voted otherwise?
:)

He may never of made it out of state politics. As an opposition party, you can make all sorts of legislation just to get someone on record opposing something controversial.

8. This Whole Thing Was A Circle Jerk...
So it was voted out...it now will die on the House floor. Let's say it somehow does pass, a court will strike it down for all the reasons Congressman Grayson stated. However, this could be a blessing in disguise. Two can play at this game. Time to bring up the military contractors...KBR, Haliburton, Xe (Blackwater)...and not only give them the same treatment, but hold a week of hearings to highlight all their abuses and crimes.

I think the problem with the video is it wasn't really promoted on many sites. I only saw it on C&L and it wasn't shown on the cables that I saw. If you haven't seen the video, I highly suggest it...Grayson gets the GOOPers to look not only foolish but outright stupid.

The fun here is seeing how much Grayson is pissing off the wingnuts and how he seems to relish it. It's refreshing to see this worm turned...and hope there are more who follow his lead. Enough of the GOOP games and lies.
