I think it would be cool if we could get our canidates to sign on for something ambitous like Kennedy did. We already used going to the moon... Im curious what, if any, ideas everyone would have on revitilizing our scientific industries.

Also, government sponsored "X" prizes for accomplishing certain benchmarks - renewable energy benchmarks, car mileage goals, efficiency technologies, renewable building materials, new drugs for smaller diseases, coastal protection technology, food productivity technology, etc.
Double NASA funding.
Enforce drug patent laws so drug companies are forced to innovate to keep profits up instead of lobbying Congress for exceptions, extensions and use changes - will also mean cheaper drugs for the public.
Pass laws that discourage patent squatting.
