My niece's SO is getting out of the hospital next week!! |
|
He has been in the hospital since his car accident on Aug 19. He almost did not make it due to the number and severity of his injuries and now he will be home next week. He has much physical therapy to do and will have to adjust to life with his now 8 month old daughter but it is amazing how well he is doing.
Stuff finally came to a head with his mom and he told her straight up that due to the way she treated his fiance, my niece, she could either apologize and work to mend the relationship or just stay away. She has chosen to stay away so far.
This young family still has a mountain ahead of them, no car because they only had liability insurance, only income is disability payment right now but at least they will all be together and have the help and support of family that care. He is suffering some lasting vision problems, probably due to coding 4 times in the er and the oxygen deprivation that resulted, and some problems with fine motor control as well as some trouble mentally with focus and concentration but his personality and sense of humor are intact. I am just so thrilled and can't wait to see him home!!

I remember you posting about the problems with the Mom. I wish things had turned around ~~ maybe they will in the future.

2. HIs mom has chosen her path. |
|
He told me that they were not close before this and her control and manipulation of people were a big part of the reason.

4. Sounds like he has made his peace with it. |
|
IMO, we all have people in our lives with whom we have to agree to disagree, and then go our separate ways. When it is a close relative ~~ especially a parent ~~ it has to be a hard thing to do.
Best to him, your niece and their lovely little family! :hi:

5. The one good thing that has come from this so far is |
|
the level of love and devotion he and my niece have has been strengthened. I realize that the difficulties ahead will be rough, I just hope they can persevere.

8. I'm so glad he's going home. |
|
Continued good wishes and prayers for his recovery.
Thank you for the update. I haven't seen one in a while, not been spending much time here lately and I'd wondered how things were going for them.
