I mean the actual details ... and what is the error margin ? and how does it take into account untaxed economic activity ?

Then they run it by whatever political powers are in control that week and, after much laughing and several drinks, they randomly pick another number.
The REALLY tricky part comes next. They have to decide which moron in the office to send out to report the figure while everyone else gathers around the live video feed and laughs their asses off (with more booze, of course).
