I've tried, I've really really tried to like her |
|
I know this is minor, but we all have our own likes and dislikes and Stephanie Miller really ruins my morning routine. I like to pour my coffee, sit down at the computer for email and online morning newspaper reading, and have my XM radio on to a talk show. So what choice do I have- Brian and the Judge on Faux XM 168 and Steph on 167. I used to tolerate the Judge because he showed less bias than other Fox commentators, but lately he has been as insanely anti-Obama as Brian. So I've given Steph a decent chance, but can she never discuss anything important without getting into a comedy routine with those idiots on her show with her. This morning was the last straw- Pelosi was speaking on the House health care bill, a serious subject to us progressives, and Steph joked throughout it and since. WHAT DO THE REST OF YOU XM LISTENERS HAVE ON IN THE MORNINGS WHERE THERE CAN BE A MIX OF SERIOUS AND SILLY AT LEAST???

3. She lost it with me with being really nasty about Hillary Clinton. She's also being unfair to Obama |

7. She was not "really nasty" about Hillary Clinton |
|
She had Clinton supporters on her show often & even went to a Hillary event.
Get over it already.

4. Try Democracy Now with Amy Goodman, way more informative. |
|
Not sure if they are on XM but they probably are.
At least catch the headlines at the top of the show, Steph is good if there is a guest or if Republicans just did something really stupid.

13. That would be fine, except I'm trying to wake up in the morning |
|
Not fall back to sleep.
Amy's show is very good, but stimulating it isn't. :boring:

15. That's why you have to get there early for the groovy intro music =) |
|
Then stay for the headlines. Music after that.

6. well, I get a chuckle from her. We have Steph, Ed and Thom from 9-5 in Chapel Hill, |
|
and it provides, to me, a (1) chance to hear a lighter, more humerous approach to the skewering first thing, (2) get the rough and ready, more anger tinged messaging with Ed, then (3) the more intellectual, thoughtful approach with Thom. No complaints here!

Totally agree with you on Ed and Thom. Enjoy both for different reasons, but get them at Noon and 3pm.

8. I listen to her on my morning drive to work |
|
But I would never listen to her during my pre-commute. And it takes me 20 minutes to get to work so my time with her is limited and enough. She is what she says she is so it's OK.
On my drive home I get Thom Hartman and my IQ goes up so whatever losses I suffered during the morning are neutralized.

11. Channel 167 has gone downhill. |
|
Ever since Air America got rid of Morning Sedition and Unfiltered, I really think that most progressive programming is a boring outrage-fest. The ones who try to inject humor aren't funny. XM's America Left channel has some pretty weak programming and I gave up listening long ago.
I listen to Symphony Hall (78), Real Jazz (70), Book Radio (163, but it gets repetitive fast), or Radio Classics (164).
I miss Fungus (53) and Music Lab (51). Why do all the good channels get replaced by 24-hour AC/DC or Bruce Springstein? Who can take more than 3 minutes of that?

12. listen to NPR or Public. All Things or TOTN. |
|
although I love steph, especially the idiocy. And Jim is the best voice impersonator in the biz. and BTW, IMO, Pelosi is a joke. That's the last time we give a huge majority to a weak broth like that. She wasted our power while the hardliners laughed in her face. And she hands us a watered down piece of nothing, that will probably do more harm than good. Feh!

14. Stephanie ROCKS...beats the crap out of Sirius 146 which is SUPPOSED to be liberal |
|
but mostly talks about NOTHING in the AM's and then makes you listen to annoying Lynn Samuels in the PMs.
XM 167 much much better than Sirius 146.
