2. Uh...OK...but what's with the sound effects? Fail! |
|
Hawks eat squirrels. That's not news. Dead squirrels, however, don't say "OW!"
Fail. Not funny. Not educational. Not worth watching in any way. There are many other videos on YouTube of hawks and their prey. It's not a funny thing. It just is.

4. Go to Walgreens. Aisle Three. It's a box called "Sense of humor". Buy it. |
|
Sheesh... so do hawks make human groaning sounds?

8. Yeah, too bad about the cheesy sound effects. |
|
That could actually be an interesting video, except for the cheese factor...

3. Yummy! We used to have an owl ... |
|
... who loved to eat its prey on a branch outside our bedroom window. Owls start eating the critters while they are still alive; the screams of agony from squirrel/rabbit/young possum were hard to take.

9. Where I live hawks have made a HUGE comeback |
|
There is a pair above my apartments every day, a pair above work, and I've seen numerous pairs hunting on the way to work.
Nature at it's grandest. And they eat vermin not just squirrels. I'll have pictures soon because htye are simply beautiful.

before Harry the Hawk entered the picture.
Than again, maybe not looking at those pictures above. Harry may just like entrails as an appetizer.

18. I'd bet Harry saw Sammy taking too long getting some nuts |
|
Although I didn't see the hawk plop the squirrel on the roof, he/she was working with a fairly plump specimen by the time I saw the event happening. Usually squirrels who get run over get pretty flat...
That said, I have seen quite a few hawks and falcons here in downtown Madison recently. The city is surrounded by lakes and plenty of potential meals are ready for them to partake in.

it was pretty clear Harry was probably responsible for Sammy's deflation.
The Harry's of the world don't always win, though. Last Friday passed one of Harrys cousins sitting on top of a delineator post along the highway. A mile or so further down the road, another of Harrys cousins was a bundle of mangle feathers on the shoulder.
Beautiful birds.

15. I love watching the hawks do their thing where I live, except when they are |
|
hunting, then it can get very raw and sometimes the death screams of the victims are too much to bear.

17. That hawk would love my neighborhood. Squirrels everywhere. |
|
Frankly, I'd rather see a bird of prey take them out, than have to scrape their pancaked remains off the street, which unfortunately happens once in a while.
Used to have some bald eagles nesting somewhere nearby. Guess they moved on. Not sure why, but it wasn't a lack of food source!
