The Pink Mafia. from Andrew Sullivan's site |

http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2009/10/the-pink-mafia.html#moreWe're not supposed to talk about this aspect of the drama in the Vatican. But there is as much an overlap of closeted gay priests and bishops with liturgical and theological orthodoxy as there is of closeted gay politicians finding ways to oppress other gays who are out and open. I believe this comment was inspired by the movie "Out Rage."

7. In all subs, you pee by yourself and shower by yourself. Hence the almost complete |
|
lack of hostility to gay sub sailors among even the most conservative sub sailors. It's amazing how LITTLE sub sailors care about gay sub sailors. Which is why it's so ironic that Sam Nunn and John Warner made their big anti-gays in the military appearance in '93 on a sub in Norfolk.

2. He's right, of course, the self loathing, closeted gay is the enemy |
|
of both out gays and of all women. The closeted, self loathing gay male is especially fond of hiding in clergy, all clergy, although many can also be find hiding behind their respective flags, too.
The closeted, self loathing gay male despises that within himself he erroneously sees as feminine and projects that hatred onto all women and only secondarily onto men who are comfortable being who they are: gay.
Their loathing is visceral and they are relentless in pursuing ways to oppress both out gays and women, destroying that part of themselves by proxy.
I haven't seen the same degree of vicious self and projected hatred among closeted lesbians. They're generally closeted to preserve their families and not to preserve access to power, so the dynamic probably affects the psychology.
However, I'm changing my mind about outing these men. Any closeted gay man who is using his position in life to oppress other gays and women needs to be outed, as destructively and publicly as possible. To hell with blackmail. Parade them in front of god and everybody. Destroy their ability to destroy others.
This is also beginning to dawn on Sully. While I disagree with him vehemently from time to time, he's on the right track this time. He just hasn't realized how wide that track really is.

4. Secrets such as sexual orientation twists a person. Until they feel safe to come |
|
out, we will see the tragedies of closeted gays in Congress trying to prove what men they are.
I remember how in the intelligence service they didn't want gays because they could be blackmailed. I don't see how an out gay can be blackmailed for being gay? Allow the gay agent to come out, to be himself/herself and the blackmail risk will disappear.

He's a pretty awesome person. He is celibate, like any other priest, and very well educated, like most other priests as well. The Catholic Church is a very strange and eclectic institution. That's one of the reasons it has been so enduring, much to the chagrin of the Conservatives (like the current Pope.)

11. I caught a Chaplin with two hookers. I ended up spending an evening with |

him and several of his friends. It turned into a party. Good guy. Gay or straight it doesn't matter as long as his heart is in the right place.
