that I remember why they thought an Electoral College was a necessity. Just curious to see what people think: Is this another GOP shift to the right- 3rd in 30 years or a flash in the pan?

... just like some far-lefters have been marginalized for being "too woo-woo", I think the majority of the GOP is going off the other end of the rails and will be looked at rather curiously for the next few cycles because they've become so fringe.
Until a 'centrist Republican movement' comes out from under the rocks and brings at least some sanity back to the discussion, either by starting its own party or forcibly taking back this one, they truly ARE the party of Rush, O'Reilly, Beck and the rest of Faux -- raving lunatics.
