Someone in Maine needs to file a lawsuit in federal court against the referendum vote. |
|
The argument is the 14th. Amendment which denies a state from providing 'equal protection of laws'. This worked in the state of Maine on a twice referendum rejected granting of voting rights to the mentally ill. http://pn.psychiatryonline.org/cgi/content/full/36/20/24

2. Won't it take years to get to the SCOTUS? By then, we could have a different court. |

3. It can only go to the USSC if they cite the Federal Constitution. |
|
If they only cite the STATE Constitution, then it can't be appealed out of the state.
At least, that's what I remember hearing when we did this in Massachusetts.
