Breaking! NBC has EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS to Air the Box of Cho's Video's sent to them! |
|
Tweety and MSNBC/NBC Management on smiling and chortling at the "exclusive rights" they worked out with FBI to Broadcast what they received.
MSNBC/NBC RATINGS WILL GO THROUGH THE ROOF. They are Congratulating themselves for receiving this in such a short time and able to negotiating it all in time for tonight's broadcast.

Cho was a sick man. Leave it at that. Why not tell America about all the help he got from those who were supposed to prevent this sort of thing from happening?

14. A No Brainer? Evidence in a killing? The FBI must be full of Russian style gangster capitalists |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-18-07 04:34 PM by Leopolds Ghost
The FBI could have snatched that shit out of NBC's hands.
I'm not saying they should have, but... granted exclusive rights to the bloody material?
Remember how everyone criticized the Post and NYT for publishing "exclusive" of Ted Kaczynski's manifesto,
saying they were "only" doing it in hopes it might lead to the Unabomber being apprehended?
I don't remember them giving it out to rival papers, either.

21. I Just Simply Think You're Wrong. |
|
I think it's in the public's interest to know what was contained in those materials sent, and I don't consider it to be indecent whatsoever.
So if you want to lower your level of argument to nothing more than silly little personal putdowns, that's your choice. But I still find nothing technically wrong with the concept of NBC doing a story on these items tonight. It would seem to be total common sense that they would do a story on such a big breaking issue. Not sure why such a concept is something that I'm supposed to feign outrage over. I'm beginning to think that some here are just searching needlessly for every possible little detail contained in anything to gripe over, just for sake of griping.

Sure, the public's interested. The same way it was interested in watching gladiators stick each other with pitchforks.
They're interested, that don't make it decent.

8. MSNBC Flashing....Brian Williams to air on NBC Nightly News |
|
and the Psychological Profiler Pundits (former FBI Agents) are all over it about how this will complete the picture of Cho for all of us. :eyes:
Amazing these "former FBI" Media Pundits and the amount of info they just happen to be able to spin off on such "short notice" in profiling this whole "case." I'm amazed at their knowledge and ability to piece together such a comprehensive profile when it was just revealed that NBC had received this package.
I wonder if the other cables: Fox and CNN are hoping there's a "package" from Cho waiting in their mailboxes that just got "delayed" for one reason or the other.
Hey...maybe Cho was a Tweety or Tucker fan? Or, maybe he read Jack Welch's best selling book on how to become SUCCESSFUL!

i would not have expected any less...and the FBI had to make a deal, because short of a court order, NBC has no legal obligation to share or give up the stuff (and even with a court order, there are other legal steps NBC could take to stall indefinitely)...

29. Copyright would have reverted to his parents |
|
Copyright inheres at the time a work of expression is fixed in tangible form. Registration is not required.
Until his death, Cho owned the copyright in those materials. Assuming he left no will recognized in Virginia, then the copyright would have reverted to his parents on his death.
His parents are entitled to enjoin publication of those materials by MSNBC.

I have no idea what angle it could be bizarre...but something doesn't sit right with me about it. It reminds me of osama saying he votes for kerry just before elections. Just in time to block out an extremely bloody day in iraq and all of this political whitewash.
And just what the hell was with brian's "I don't want to create anymore heroes or martyrs" comment? Couldn't he just outright call them "Criminals" or "Delusional murderers"?

36. This is a sad comment on the state of the news media today. 20 years ago |
|
(or maybe even less) this type of material would have been pooled for anybody who wanted to broadcast or print it.
There would also would have been close scrutiny about what was aired.
Journalists used to have ethics. Now, the bean-counters are in charge. That's why I'm out.
