Anyone else see a post about a shooting on the MU Campus
at Columbia, Missouri here on DU? I read it about 90 minutes ago and now I can't find it.

Was that post some kind of sick joke?

Apparently, there was a shooting in Missouri, two people dead. But it's all OK because it wasn't on a college campus. Thus, it's unimportant.

Shooting Near University of Missouri-Columbia

Columbia Police: Shooting Was NOT on MU Campus

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Reports out of Columbia say that one person was shot near the campus of the University of Missouri.

Police wanted to make clear the shooting did not occur on campus and appears to be an isolated incident.

The shooting happened at the corner of Grindstone Parkway and Bearfield Road shortly before 3:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim was later found at Reactor Field after a traffic stoop by an off-duty police officer, according to KOMU out of Columbia.

Reports said 2 area elementary schools were locked down as a precaution, but students have since been released. The University of Missouri was never in lock down said MU Public Relations Officer Mary Jo Banken
