I drove by a spaghetti dinner fund raiser today... |
|
that was seeking funds to help pay for the medical costs of some young gentleman who is suffering with brain cancer.
I decided to stop and get a dinner.
As I was eating, I kept wondering why we need health care reform in this country.
After all, we have spaghetti. :sarcasm:

1. Unfortnately, the "reform" we're getting |
|
with the high out of pocket expenses it allows - won't put an end to fund raisers like this.

2. I shamefully admit that... |

I stopped following the possible iterations of the potential bill a few weeks ago.
I will be reading DU tonight and watching the news to try to catch up.

I suppose those who don't want to belong to social clubs like churches can just go suck eggs for assistance with their healthcare, huh? Curmudgeons are at a distinct disadvantage, as they always fail in popularity contests.

...we had a pancake breakfast for a firefighter who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
The family is drowning in medical bills. They have insurance.
Is this the utopia that the teabaggers are protecting?

9. I was thinking the very same thing today... |
|
People from France, England, Canada etc. would gasp with disbelief over something like this.

11. And that we keep having to have things like this is a Godamned shame... |
|
Yeah, we got people having garage sales here and spaghetti dinners there and pretty soon there will be no one left to help each other.
I'm so disgusted I could just shit a garage sale full of spaghetti on the Hill.
They couldn't possibly be proud of what they did tonight, could they?

12. I can make my own spaghetti cheaper without paying for someone's cancer treatment. |
|
Kind of like medical care can be provided cheaper if not driven by providing profits to companies.
