I wish people would quit calling this bill Health Care reform
This bill didn't do one thing to reform health care and never will.. I wish people and the pundits would quit calling it health care reform because it isn't..

1. People with pre-existing conditions will get health care
There. Now you can call it health care reform.

5. The OP is correct.
It is not health care reform. It is health insurance reform.

The powers that be would have had a greater chance of success and an easier time had they called it what it is, health insurance reform, and had they reformed all insurance by removing the anti-trust law exemptions.

8. No, how has it reformed health care?
Health care funding - but where is the reform?

It is a weak attempt to regulate health care insurance.

10. If more people can go to the doctor
I would say that is huge reform. But I guess that's just me.

I would also say that the kids' immunization program, required preventive care, and healthy community intiatives are health care changes. There is a lot in that bill.

2. It is health care reform...
just making it illegal not to cover people with preexisting conditions is a major step. That's not to mention banning lifetime limits of coverage, expanding medicaid for more people and best of all...there is a public option.

Now, you may not like the details, but this is a major first step in getting the kind of health care reform we all want. It's just not going to happen overnight.

Besides, this hasn't even gotten to Obama's desk.

7. So what is it? Besides it being...
the first major overhaul or reform in US healthcare that might see the light of day in the last 50 years?

12. So the US is pathetic. What else is new? It's still the...
biggest thing we've done in 50 years.

Half the country is so mind-bogglingly ignorant and so afraid of taxes and socialism that this is the best we're going to get. Throw it out because it's not good enough? Yeah, right-- keep us even further behind modern civilization.

the insurance companies, wall street bankers, and privatized prison owners and the politicians they own are laughing themselves silly as they pad their bank accounts.
