Isn't it odd? Republicns worry all the time about their children/grandchildren's financial security, |
|
but they don't seem to care one bit about the fact that their water may be undrinkable (if there's enough water to begin with), the coastal areas where so many people live may be underwater, or uninhabitable due to severe storm-cycles, energy and its wars may gobble up most of the money they have, they will probably have higher rates of many cancers due to the polluted world they will inherit, birth defects & autism probably will affect more of their children than ours..
but of course republicans are only worried about the taxes they will have to pay..

1. No republicons do not worry about their kids or grand kids once they come |
|
out of the womb. Besides pollution, toxic waste none of those things are in a republicons life, those are just words liberals made up to scare people into enacting EPA laws that hurt big business. I even heard a few republicons ask why DDT and Asbestos were banned, I mean really it was only Eagles that were being effected by DDT and the folks who got cancer from asbestos really didn't, they either smoked cigarettes or hung around smokers. The republicons that live in Dow chemicals town of Midland Michigan think dioxins are a natural chemical found in the rivers that Dow dumped in these last 100+ years and they are healthy for people.

4. Oh, yeah, the democrat deficits make them crazy. |
|
But they never seem to be bothered by the fact that REPUBLICAN policies are bankrupting their kids and grandkids.
When the magnificent Ronald Reagan was elected, the total federal debt was nearing 1 trillion dollars and people were all upin arms about it, and he vowed to bring about a return to fiscal responsibility. So he cut taxes(mostly for the rich) and increased spending while slashing social programs. And the deficit exploded - doubled the first year, then increased some more. ,Hardly a peep was heard form those concerned about their decendants' finances. No significant changes in the budget numbers through Bush Sr. and its all good.
Along comes a democrat under whom fiscal sanity returns and even turns the mind boggling deficits into a SURPLUS, which upsets the conservatives so much they feel compelled to steal an election and implant somebody to get their money back. Paying down the debt their kids and grandkids will inherit seems to offend their sensibilities.
Enter Bush Jr. who wastes no time pushing through tax cuts(mostly for the rich) and increases spending while slashing social programs, to the same predictable result, and nary a peep from those concerned about their offsprings' bank balances.
Enter a democratic president charged with cleaning up after the wild excesses, who employs the fortitude needed to keep the entire economy from imploding like a star after going supernova, and all those conservatives emerge, wiping sleep from their eyes like Rip van Winkle, appalled at democratic attempts to ruin their kids and grandkids' chances at prosperity.
Makes me want to bop them in the head like in the V8 commercials. At least.
