Chavez tells troops to ready for war with Colombia

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — President Hugo Chavez ordered Venezuela's military on Sunday to prepare for a possible armed conflict with Colombia, saying the country's soldiers should be ready if the United States attempts to provoke a war between the South American neighbors.

"The best way to avoid war is preparing for it," Chavez told military officers standing at attention during his weekly television and radio program.

Repeating an often-used military adage, he added, "If you want peace, prepare for war."

Chavez told his supporters that President Barack Obama holds sway over Colombia's government, and he cautioned the U.S. leader against using his allies in Bogota to mount a military offensive against Venezuela.

2. Too many people are jealous of success.
Chavez and the people who have prospered under his reign should be wary.

3. Yawn.
Another attempt by Chavez to make himself a bigger player in world events than he is or his status as head of Venezuela entitles him to be.

4. Venezuela accuses Colombia of being too close to the Pentagon...
Sorry gringos. Since you are such self appointed experts on Chávez and not a bunch of freeper sleeper cells you should know Spanish, lest you get easily duped by your own media. :nopity:
