2. Well.. gazelles are "free" to move about, but there is usually a lion |
|
hiding in the bushes.. The thing is.. the lion will only get ONE gazelle on any given day.
Life is random and there are never any guarantees..it does suck though :(

6. You live in the USA under the Bush regime. |
|
Your rights are already long gone.
In this insane country, however, in which the average guy on the street has the mentality of a character out of "Deliverance," it doesn't really matter who is President. The nutcase's "rights" are backed up by a huge and powerful gun lobby and the masses don't seem to mind or notice that their personal safety is at risk.
Your point is well taken though. Oh, and :hi:

Hot damn, news to me. Where do we sign up? ;)
Seriously though...there are just as many undercover cops apt to go crazy one day among us. Doesn't mean they will, but...I don't think we ever had the right you just mentioned. They just kind of herded us into a dark corner and finally said 'look, guns are everywhere. You can't hide now, may as well submit.' I think bush was just a bumbler who was stupid enough to SHOW us what's been going on ever since kennedy had been assassinated.

10. In theory yes. In practice...ONLY |
|
if a court sets such a precendent and usually thats going to be the Supreme Court (i.e. abortion)
I could claim that I have the right to wear white after labor day, but unless a court is backing me up, its just my opinion.
I honestly don't believe that any court has ever declared it a civil right to not stand next to a man with a concealed gun (especially with approxmiately 48 states now granting concealed carry licenses)
BTW, Im on your side with this, but you have to face reality before you can attempt to change reality.

13. Your rights aren't worth anything if you don't believe they exist. |
|
Wear white after labor day. Make a Federal case out of it.
That's real democracy at work.

And I don't believe that the "right to not have to stand next to a man with a concealed gun" exists.
You do and thats cool. I wish you were right.
Nonethless, since there is disagreement, in practice it only becomes a right if a court backs up that right.
And with 48 out of 50 states endorsing concealed carry, we've got a ways to go before your conjecture becomes a right.

12. It also says you have rights not enumerated in the Consitution. |
|
Which includes the right to privacy although it is not explicitly written as such in the Fourth Amendment.
It includes a general freedom of expression although the First Amendment does not say that literally.
It includes the right to wear bow ties and badly fitting clothes.
It includes just about anything if you can justify it without at the same time causing harm to others.

15. The Constitution Does not List our Rights |
|
It is a document that limits the power of the government, no where in the constitution does it say anything about citizens having the right to eat yet we eat every day.
