Anybody noticed that Kitty Carlisle Hart is dead?
OK, who's Kitty Carlisle?

Just another Larger Than Life somebody many of us grew up with. Sang in Marx Brothers movies and on Broadway, boyfriends like George Gershwin and Moss Hart, and around 30 years defending the arts as New York State's oh-fish-ul Arts guru and czar.

And a panelist on "What's My Line" but everyone thought the whole show was pointless and the panelists did it just for shits and giggles.

4. They were married, but it wasn't...
ummm, exactly a typical marriage.

Or maybe it was, just more honest about it.

5. Yes,
I was very saddened. She was quite a woman, and what a life she had!

6. The Game Show Network replays 40+ year old
episodes of What's My Line on Sunday nights. Kitty Carlisle and Arlene Francis would come out in evening gowns accompanied by men in tuxedos to play a simple question and answer game that amounted to nothing more than guessing that an attractive woman was (gasp) a judge. Totally hokey and outdated by today's standards, but everyone was unfailingly polite to the guests and to each other, and it's really an interesting time capsule of a bygone era.

Kitty Carlisle lived a long and full live. Maybe, if there is a life after this one, she's wearing a blindfold and waiting while a "mystery guest" - (think of the possibilities) enters and signs in. RIP, Kitty.

8. Fortunately for the unemployed like me...
staying up until 4am on a Monday morning is not a problem and I can actually get to watch some of those old episodes. They're great, all the panelists look like they are dressed up for Oscar night, it's certainly a bygone era

13. Here in California the show airs late at night around
midnight. I'd never make it to a 4AM showing!!

a judge. The people who booked the contestants weren't out to raise awareness, just to try to find someone whose occupation would "stump" the panel - as they frequently did with professional women. If it made girls watching at home think, "Hey, maybe I could be a judge someday, too," that was most likely an unintended (but certainly positive) consequence.

10. I read about her passing earlier yesterday.
But DU was having 'issues' and so, I couldn't post about it.

96 is a looooong life! I think she lived it well!

She was a very successful woman.

She made me smile, as was her goal, during her time on tv!

Thanks Kitty! You will be missed.
