Where were you when the Berlin Wall Fell? |
|
I was in Florida on my way to Germany.
No Shit.
I was 12 and my Father had been assigned to Ramstine Air Base... and the fall of the Berlin Wall completely changed my life.
I was hours away (168 but who's counting...I was 12) from entering Germany, and then the wall fell!
I will never forget it.

2. I don't remember. Probably flipping channels so I didn't have to see Ronald Reagan on the tv. |
|
It wasn't that big a deal to me personally. I remember Yeltsin making a speech on a truck.

3. I think a lot of people were doing the same because looking back on those years all |
|
I remember thinking at the time was how the right was going to give Ronnie credit for the wall coming down and how that was more important to them then say the economy being just a hair better then the USSR's or that more and more was coming out on aids not being a gay only illness, which liberals had been saying since aids first showed up, and how the right ignored the findings and continued to call aids a gay disease. I do remember thinking at the time that Reagan almost destroyed the country in his attempt to out spend the USSR and how his policies might cause the US to go the way the USSR went.
