If Nidal Hasan wanted out, he could have told the Army he was gay |
|
The Army would have "granted" his request. Discuss.

3. That was completely unacceptable |
|
to a Muslim zealot, which it seems he had become.
Suicide by cop while murdering fellow soldiers seemed much more logical to his incredibly disordered mind.

Islam has three or four branches now, does it not?

They put him in the enlisted ranks for two years. He was a graduated electrical engineer wearing dungarees and scraping paint.

14. I don't think it is that easy |
|
We had a guy go unauthorized absence once before a morning formation. He left a note stating that the military wasn't for him and don't bother looking for him because he was gay and staying with his lover. Within 30 days they were able to find him. After his punishment for going UA was completed, he was reassigned to another unit. There was never any proof that he was a homosexual.

lots of people have tried that over the years, can't say i ever heard that it worked for them
i don't think he wanted out, i think he was a terrorist who wanted to be exactly where he was and who killed a lot of good soldiers
i don't understand the fetish with pretending that there are no terror attacks on american soil (other than 9-11), this tired old bush/cheney lie should have been put to rest a long time ago
there are bad men out there and sometimes they kill people and it isn't just by happenstance and accident, and it doesn't just happen in those "other" countries
sure he's a nut, for that matter, every wingnutter who shot an abortion doctor is a nut but they're still terrorists, it is not one or the other, it's both -- the two things are not mutually exclusive in any way

20. Conscripts used that dodge to stay out the Vietnam War |
|
A lot of men said that early on in the war. Eventually, the Army started to ignore the answer and press the draftees into service nonetheless.
