If we didn't have politics, no one would need a haircut. We could walk around all day shaggy, dreadlocked, and with long beards. The freedom of choice between candidates that show us who they really are. Is John Edwards covering up his hiden shaggyness? What else is he covering up? If it weren't for this political game, we might actually get to see what Hillary would look like with dreadlocks. And is that who she really is? Instead, we see that the inventor of Politics has instituted a requirement that people look good while campaigning. So Edwards spends $400 on his haircut and Hillary spends $1500 on hers. This travesty is all the inventors fault. I wonder what Obama would look like all natural...

1. I blame the Fashion Fascists.
They have created ideals for people that no mortal human can achieve...without spending on $1500 haircuts and liposuction and laser hair removal and implants.

There are those of us who say "To hell with it" and lop off our own hair when it becomes inconvenient. We will never be the Kool Kids, but we won't put money into the hands of the frivolous and dictatorial.

2. Wouldn't it be great if people who weren't ridiculously rich
could run for public office?

4. There are practical reasons why Edwards has to pay that much.
He can't go to just any barber for a hair cut. He could come out looking like a dork. He has to look his best and he has to be consistent in his looks. If he's traveling and on a schedule then his barber has to meet him on the road. The barber has to be compensated for his time and his travel expense. It's a legitimate campaign expense. The only reason he's backtracked on it is to shut people up about it.

The same reasons apply to Hilliary. She has to pay extra to get the same look on the road that she has all the time. It's a campaign expense.

5. Yes yes, but aren't haircuts just the roots of our problem in this country.
PS - this is satire
