Great program about Cleopatra on right now on The Discovery Channel |
|
one thing I don't understand - if inbreeding was routinely practiced by the Ptolemy's, where's the evidence of birth defects?
The Ptolemys ruled Egypt for some 300 years.
Don't you think something would have gone wrong in the gene pool after all that time?

1. Is this the one where she dies in the end? I'll admit to not knowing much about her. nt |

2. I should think all inhabitants of the ancient world died in the end |
|
this program is focused more on Cleopatra murdering her younger sister, Arsinoe.

6. thanks for the heads' up! |

just starting in my area! :)
Same father, different mothers, perhaps? And the Ptolemys were Greeks, so they brought their own DNA, which wasn't as messed up as the Egyptian ruling class' was by that time.
