Shep Smith: I Regret "Lack Of Balance" Apology -
Shep Smith made headlines when he apologized for a "lack of balance" in Fox News' reporting shortly after Shannon Bream snagged an interview with NJ Republican Chris Christie, but did not attempt to interview his opponent, incumbent Democrat Gov. Jon Corzine.

"Wow. I didn't know that was about to happen," Smith said at the time. "My apologies for the lack of balance there. If I'd had control it wouldn't have happened."

Now, the anchor largely seen as the face of Fox News' objective reporting, says he regrets that apology.

"I came off looking condescending," he told the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz. "I handled it poorly."

Smith told Kurtz that he didn't know Bream had unexpectedly gained the interview with Christie.

The host of "Studio B" and "Fox Report" also said that, while he often calls out the conservative opinion-makers on his network, he is grateful that they are on his team as they add to the bottom line.

"Our newscast is better because our opinion programs are successful," he told Kurtz.

Watch Smith's apology below, or read the full article in the Washington Post here.

3. Shep Smith should apologize
I think he was right to apologize the first time, so now I'm demanding that he apologize for apologizing for apologizing.

fan club. Where are they?

The people who fawn all over Shep.......

On DU posts, posting that Smith could do no wrong...especially the gullible ones who screamed, when some wiser DUers tried to explain that Smith & Fox news were full of bullshit, and simply using Smith's planned apology pretending that, see, Fox "news" really is "fair & balanced".

Always amazing how gullible these rookies are, (usually they call themselves "moderates" - fucking moderates, with no strong ideology of their own...which ever way the popular wind blows clowns, even voting republican at times)!

4. Shep should have made a phone call to CNN the minute Lou Dobbs announced his resignation
They probably would have given him the time slot. I don't see him staying with FAUX much longer.

6. He's obviously had to visit the principal's office.......
Shep Smith could get a job with CNN easily. I don't know why he stays there.

9. I don't think I'll ever trust Shep Smith
I mean, he has done some good things, and sometimes it seems like he should be kicked off fox for truth telling.... but he did make it big with fox. Conservatives wouldn't think anything of installing a sleeper in a rival news network.

and true motives.

So many people don't, obvious by the fact the Smith cheerleaders are so deafening conspicuously silent, about the duplicit & conniving ole Shep!
