Who do you want for Treasury Secretary? Jim Cramer?
He's got a cable show and he shouts a lot. That must mean he knows a lot too.

4. What makes you think that Rahm isn't doing exactly what he was brought on to do? |
|
Ideologically the President and Rahm are in the same centrist corporatist camp.

16. on a side note...or question... |
|
what percentage of the American voting public qualifies as the same?
not to promote Ed for any position as premised in post, but where has all the 'leadership', especially among our beloved Democrats, gotten us?...just as deep in the pocket of the corporatists as any other administration...
it ain't Ed...but it's about time we woke up to the realities of our party being just as sold-out as the republicans...
we are more worried about the messenger than the message...and it is showing...

|
Should we elect them as president?
Let's not get ridiculous.
If you're going to succeed in politics you need both the message and a good messenger. Ed isn't the latter.

|
Edited on Mon Nov-16-09 06:35 PM by islandmkl
Rahm isn't the President...he is the 'pit bull'...only you have to ask yourself if he is keeping the bad guys out or keeping you in...in the box the DLC has constructed, serviced, and maintained since the early '90s...
Ed is merely a symbol of the discourse our party needs...to minimize the message by focusing on the personality of Ed, who is in no powerful position, certainly not a position even remotely close to Rahm's, is to allow the party to continue to be the 'look, we are not the republicans' party, while actually pursuing and promoting the exact same philosophies and programs we have dealt with for the past eight...no, make that 27..years...

28. I Won't Apologize... Perhaps If there Were More People Ranting Like |
|
ED, we might be looking at REAL Health Care Reform! He didn't go out and hand pick those people at the town halls. AND, he does a LOT of them!
If anyone really thinks that he's pushing an agenda that's NOT REAL, then they may not be listening. Many of the people I worked with to get Obama elected, many whom I actually twisted arms to get out in this hot Florida sun, are now wondering why I pushed so hard! I've told them that I'm perplexed too and I don't really have any answers.
These are people who ARE Democrats and have been Democrats for a very long time. Some came along easily, but others made me work hard to get them out and knock on doors or make phone calls or others things with the campaign. As with ALL of us, we were FED up with The Idiot et al, but now it seems most of us are just scratching our heads. And I freely admit Obama wasn't my first or second choice, but I worked very hard in a Ruby Red County!! I know of two families that have no job which in turn means NO HEALTH INSURANCE because the can't afford it!
So scream all you want about Ed, I think at the very least he's trying VERY HARD to make an essential point, THAT WHAT WAS PASSED in the House, isn't really what MOST OF US HAD IN MIND!
Now we're scratching our heads wondering how much MORE watered down this thing will be. And ONE MORE THING... many ARE ready to GO INDEPENDENT... SERIOUSLY! I've thought long and hard about it too! So this isn't something Democrats in D.C. should just sniff at because the REALITY here is that Democrats DO LOOK WEAK!
JMHO, and those of many in my circle!
