AAR R.I.P. in El Paso....last Saturday I tuned in only to hear Ruby & the Romantics
crooning "Our Day Will Come." My suspicions were immediately aroused. Monday, no Randi. Went to the AAR site and checked out the radio station list....yup, no El Paso.

That was short and not very sweet. They had put in this awful local guy, boring as hell, running the AM show like "old home week" for his buddies. A short while ago, they added another hour of another guy who was supposed to be controversial and who didn't sound real liberal to me. That cut Hartmann to about 2 hours.

This was a station I could only get here til about 5 pm depending on the solar weather....but it was fun while it lasted...being able to turn on a radio and actually listen to people other that the RW crap.

Back to the computer, if I'm so motivated. However, in the AM I've got the BBC on shortwave and now with the schedule changes for the summer I have the wonderful Radio Netherlands. That's how I survived before AAR came to EP for its very short run....

3. I've considered it...and might do something in the future....
(That's listening via the computer, but hooked up to a "speaker" system through other radios or headphones, right?

4. You plug the gadget into your computer's usb slot and tune your radio to what they instruct
sometimes public speakers use these wireless mics and a radio tuner this just uses the usb instead of a mic

2. I really miss AAR. We lost the Dallas station in October.
And, no, I haven't sprung for satellite.
