Gun Shop Question: if guns are banned on the VT campus...
& Cho LIVED on campus, shouldn't his dorm address have been enough to deny the guns?

Maybe he used his parent's address...

1. State residency is required, the VT gun ban is not state law

It's the school's policy.

Just recently a bill that would have overridden VT's no-guns policy was defeated in the VA state legislature.

A different situation exists in Illinois. Gun dealers there cannot sell handguns to anyone who lives in a ZIP code that is within the city of Chicago (where handguns are pretty much banned), unless the person has a city-issued handgun permit.
