Look at these young women....they were kicked out of the prom
(Here is the link and then click the slide show. http://www.click2houston.com/education/12153828/detail.html ) I know this is an old story but I just had time to look at the slideshow. This is insane. There is nothing inappropriate with any of these dresses.

I admit, I'm a total prude with my dress. My teens laugh at me and I've had a learning curve to accept styles today. Even I, conservative dresser that I am, see nothing wrong with their dress.

Give them a break. They have large breasts and are wearing very beautiful dresses that show off their figure. Their is nothing wrong with any of these dresses.

I admit, I was sort of dismissive when I first saw the controversy. Now, I'm just pissed. What the hell should a woman do? What should she wear to the prom?

2. There's nothing wrong with those dresses!!! A few show a bit of cleavage
but the one-shouldered and strapless dresses are beautifully fitted.

Awful lot of black girls kicked out, huh??

I work in downtown Salt Lake City. When LDS general conference is in session, most females are wearing those god ugly jumpers.
I can't stand them
I call it the "Mormon Moo Moo"

16. That's my question, too. BUT...
It would be difficult to find a prom dress that shows less cleavage than several of those dresses did...that black dress was not revealing at all.

Looks like a race thing, with a token white girl thrown in, if you ask me.

9. There's nothing wrong with those dresses...
they look like every other prom dress that I've seen, it just so happens that those young women aren't flat chested...that's not their fault

11. I have no idea what's wrong with those dresses
by the time they reach 17 or 18, young women have breasts. Some young women have larger breasts than other. There is no way to just make them disappear.

*sigh*

14. Promming while black?
Except for the one white girl.

Those are lovely dresses as far as I can tell. And a lot of them have beading and crystals to accentuate the cleavage. Very pretty.

Can't let our boys be tempted. :sarcasm:

Good lord, what is wrong with people. I see nothing wrong with what these girls are wearing.

17. Do the stores even sell anything else?
All of those dress looked exactly like the standard fair for all proms nationwide....I don't think there is anything available (other than a burka) that looks any different...

Sounds descrimnation against the slightly overweight and large breasted young women....

Fuck that bunch of prudes....

Well, other than they really don't fit the body shape of the girls. There are appropriate ways to dress when you aren't model material that is flattering to your figure. These girls were totally off the mark. But, to each his own.

Those dresses look like the standard fair for proms nationwide. I doubt that during prom season you could even find anything less reveling (other than a burka).

22. One looked like she needed a little more support. #6 needed
a better fitting, more supportive bodice for her dress, but she wasn't showing very much at all. None of these young ladies were revealing too much.

They are all very lovely young women.

I don't get it.

Even if you look at prom dresses 50 years ago, many of them are strapless and of a bodice-type design.

What gives?

Were they enforcing daytime/school time dress codes...at the prom? :wtf:

I can't believe a prude with a 'tude was allowed to ruin the evening for those lovely young people.

28. That is really weird
My date in the early 90s showed an awful lot more than that.

And that was before the "Let's all dress like prostitutes" era that we are currently in.
