1. Maybe Obama and his congress should do something about it? |

Increasing loans and shit won't help.

Is double digit unemployment occurring while the government throws trillions at the banks reality or not?

But "yet" is only a matter of time.
How long do you think even the passive liberals are going to stand with Obama if their jobs and jobs of family members are lost while watching Geithner and Bernanke continuing to funnel several trillions of dollars down the black holes the banks have become?
It WILL happen, and stories like that on MSNBC shouldnt be derided because we dont like the criticism of Obama, these stories should serve as a warning to the administration to change their focus before its too late.

12. the news has been merged with the entertainment department... so the reality |
|
you are looking for may not be reality at all but 'reality' like we seen on reality shows. you know... the manufactured reality the promotes a certain story line the media wants to put forward.

5. One can only hope. Since there's no more moral issue than poverty, it would be great to get some |
|
attention.
For once.
We've insured that Wall Street is sufficiently bailed out.
We've guaranteed that insurance companies are well protected and beneficiaries from any so-called "health" reform.
We've chosen tax breaks to business, subsidies to the investor class, and state-opt out job stimulus, over a true jobs program.
Perhaps now poverty can be a direct subject and top-priority for the White House?
No, of course not...

True individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made.

9. Huh? Where? Who? And wouldn't it be nice if this were true? |
|
There SHOULD be a firestorm raging about unemployment, but as far as I can tell, it's the Great Unmentionable in the whole economic recovery discussion.

13. When are they going to ask the republicons.. |
|
what are their steps for fixing it, other than tax cuts. The next question after they say tax cuts is how can this help the unemployed because they don't get tax cuts.
The next question is what have all of the tax cuts in the bills this year have done. The next question is why do they not want to help mainstreet and if they say the do ask them how? Ask them how will they help the older workers as well as the young?
Do you hear this media ask the right damn questions and stop helping the repugs with their fingerpointing when they are the ones who put us in this situation in the first place.
