Why anyone would donate a dime to his campaign is beyond me. Might as well flush your $$ down the toilet.

Jesting, McCain Sings: 'Bomb, Bomb, Bomb' Iran

April 19, 2007 ·

Republican presidential contender Sen. John McCain (AZ) joked about
bombing Iran this week during a campaign appearance in Murrells Inlet, S.C.

McCain was asked by an audience member about possible U.S. military action in Iran.

Watch the Video:

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) broke into song this week
during a campaign stop in South Carolina. YouTube.com

"How many times do we have to prove that these people are blowing up people now,
never mind if they get a nuclear weapon. When do we send them an airmail message
to Tehran?" a man in the crowd asked.

In response, McCain said, "That old, eh, that old Beach Boys song, Bomb Iran" —
which elicited laughter from the crowd. McCain then chuckled before briefly singing
— to the tune of the chorus of the Beach Boys' classic "Barbara Ann" —

"Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, anyway, ah ...."

The audience responded with more laughter.

9. OK, that's just fraking crazy.
Thanks for the link. I don't know what's more disturbing, McCain's "joke" or the audience guffawing at it.

3. It's only April 2007, and
people have short memories. While I'd love to say he's done, I think he's got a bit of life left in that carcass.

7. OMG - I just saw the clip...
I saw some threads about this earlier today, but didn't read them. I thought they were referring to a YouTube video, or a new JibJab animation! Now I see that he really said it! AND he blew the joke, too - he said "you remember that old Beach Boys song, Bomb Iran" (he should have said: BARBARA ANN!!) and then went into the stupid foot-in-mouth episode.

Could this guy be a bigger loser, or what? The L on his forehead is neon red and blinking furiously!

13. or shored up his key constituents
let's not underestimate the number of people out there support the idea and actually believe that US loving democracies can blossom from military operations that leave countries in ruins.

15. McLame is quite the comedian.
Remember he joked that he would commit suicide if the Dems garner a majority in the Congress?

He and his audience laugh at killing people. Yeah, that is real funy.

14. Ok,
Mission: Get rid of John Kiss George's-Ass McCain

Method: Make sure this man gets as much public exposure as possible in the next few days. He's clearly losing it, and it won't be long before he snaps....in public.

18. I agree--he hasn't done anything sufficiently stupid as of yet, despite
a few non-conservative positions and a hinky personal life. I hope when he stops being so sheltered (being early and all), he will step in a big ol' pile.

17. As dumb and insensitive as this was, the Baghdad shopping trip
will prove to be his downfall. That was such a colossal blunder, taking days to plan and a literal small army to pull off, that the fallout from it will last much longer than an off-the-cuff song or remark.
