5. Summary of Sheriff Joe's comments: |
|
First note: No Latino on the panel. Joe understands what plays well to the media (no shit). Joe: He's not a publicity hound, didn't ask to be there. He has "open door policy". He publicizes what he does to "report to the people." Denies threatening people, his office goes after those he violate the law. Avoids the question often. Kicks out reporters who want to disrupt his press conferences, which are for specific issues and they are "on government property." It's not the press, "it is the media." (my comment, Sheriff Joe is really petty).
Questions about Phoenix New Times, whose editors he had arrested and the charges were dropped. Joe says that the bad publicity from them has increased his favorability rating. Then much BS.
Sorry, I've listened to this guy for 25 minutes and can't take him anymore. Anyone want to take over from 26:00?
