So is Tim Griffin still the USAtty in Arkansas?
Just re-listened to a portion of the Fredo testimony wherein he strongly asserted that he disapproved of the PatAct provision that circumvents Senate approval of appointees. He claimed that after finding out that Senator Pryor did not support Griffin for that position, that he would seek a replacement.

What's the status of that, anyone know? Or was it just more disingenuous bullshit?

1. I think Griffin is still *in place* in Arkansas. Not much time left for oppo research, doncha know.
And while everybody in Gonzales' DOJ is "gumming this to death", Griffin is still doing his dirty work.

He needs to be removed immediately, and Cummings reinstated.

2. Still here, probably doing his best not to investigate Thomas Hearne and Gov.
Blunt of Missouri.

3. Gonzales stands firmly by Cummings' "resignation".
Griffin is permanently in his interim position until otherwise ordered by the President.

4. Yep.
There was pressure put on Gonzales by a Congressman to fire the US attorneys, including Griffin; the pressure was ignored, although it was considered completely proper by most people.

The pressure, in this case, was ignored, whatever was said; "seeking a replacement" may not be done at once. Griffin's still there.
