Tell Sen Banking Chrm Dodd what you think Re: re-hiring "Bailout-WS-crooks but Renig-on-SS" Bernanke

I just got off the telephone with Sen. Dodd's office.

I had a hard time believing that we are seriously considering re-confirming a fed chairman who, after bailing out Wall Street incompetents & criminals, suggests to the Senate that Social Security & Medicare commitments are only as mandatory as Congress wants them to be, and Congress should not honor the commitments made to Americans who have faithfully paid Social Security & Medicare taxes for decades.

I asked the fellow in Sen. Dodd's office if Sen. Dodd was continuing his support of Bernanke, or if he had an open mind.

I was told that Sen. Dodd continues to support Bernanke, but that he "always keeps an open mind".

Maybe it's time for Sen. Dodd to hear what Americans think about "our" fed chief's priorities.

1. Important! K & R!
When I saw that article where Bernanke suggested congress repeal social security and medicare I flipped out and sent this mail to the pres and all my reps:

In an article posted in today's Huffingtonpost titled Bernanke Channels Willie Sutton In Assault On Social Security: 'That's Where The Money Is' (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/12/03/bernanke-channels-willie_n_378963.html)
Mr. Bernanke suggests that congress do away with Social Security and Medicare. I find this absolutely repulsive during an economic crisis that is sending thousand of Americans each month to the unemployment lines. There is no longer any job security in this country. Pensions are disappearing and 401k's decimated. Families are losing healthcare along with their jobs. Mr. Bernanke's solution is to cut the programs middle class families have contributed to in good faith for their entire life when they need it the most? While he continues to get everything wrong about the economy and collect a fat salary? He has gone too far. Please fire this man at once and replace him with someone who will work diligently for the people of the United States and not for Wall Street.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I cannot believe that Bernanke would suggest that social security is where all the money is when everyone knows the policies of the last thirty years have resulted in the wealth of this nation flowing up into the hands of the top .1 percent. You want to know where the money is? It's in their assets and accounts. Take that back why don'tcha?
Anyway, the entire thing has me fuming. Please write, fax and call Senator Dodd, and all your reps to stop this outrageous attack on the few remaining social programs.

2. It's great that Bernie Sanders has the guts to put a hold on the confirmation, but Dodd CHAIRS the B

Banking Committee.

If Dodd were to be convinced to waver, Bernanke would be toast, as he needs to be.
