The Molly Ivins Avatars...
Every time I see one it makes me sad.

I grew up in Texas and she and Ann Richards were two great, witty and wise characters.

I think it's because the avatars are of the younger Ivins, glowing with youth and enthusiasm.

Why are the best ones taken from us so soon?

I wanted to see Ivins as a hell-raising old granny in a rocking chair...

1. And DU has yet to offer an Ivins avatar....
They've got Groucho Marx and John Lennon, but no Katharine Hepburn, Kitty Carlisle, Lauren Bacall, or Myrna Loy - ALL good Democrats. Oh, they've got Marilyn Monroe and Mona Lisa though.

They've got Will Rogers but no Molly.

They've got two Einstein's but only one Eleanor Roosevelt.

They've got the rapist from Clockwork Orange, but no Julia Child - a SERIOUS Democrat.

In other words, they're just not that interested in offering avatars of women who were vocal and proven Democrats.

5. I stand corrected, she's two down from Jack Nicolson's character in The Shining.
WHY is that offered? Because he spends the movie terrorizing women? They should place his picture next to the rapist from Clockwork Orange.

Be nice, guys. Please!....
