**If you were a Bully, Check In....Confession Time** |
|
We have two long threads of DUers telling the stories of bullies that bullied them in school (or at home). Well let's hear it from the bullies. Are you all willing to tell us what you did? You don't have to if you don't want to. :)

1. Once in college I dated a guy who when we broke up decided to out me |
|
I totally lied and denied it telling everyone he was a deluded liar. Since he actually had a habit of lying they believed me over him. I didn't mean to hurt him but I sure didn't cover myself in glory either.

2. Still Haunted To This Day By My One Incident Of Bullying |
|
When I was in fifth grade there was a girl that used to eat sardines and for some reason I thought that was really sick. While she was at PE (and wearing her tennis shoes) I poured some of her left over sardine juice into one of her good shoes and thought it was funny. She was really shy and she didn't even make a scene about it. Just put her shoes back on. I still feel bad about it to this day. Hope she isn't a DUer but if she is, I heartedly apologize. Other than that, I used to defend people picked upon by other (and even meaner) bullies. Still no excuse.

I was a joker and a bit of a delinquent as a kid and "made fun" of other kids, although I expected the same back and took it as well as I dished it out I think. It was all in good fun in my mind, although I know I went too far plenty of times. Obviously we all see our actions differently through the prism of experience. I can say that although my friends and I got in plenty of scrapes we would never have thought it was cool to pick a fight with someone smaller or an easy target. Not that we were morally superior delinquents, it just wasn't something that would have been considered cool for us.

Not pulling an Alberto Gonzales, here, but I did get an email recently from someone I went to elementary school with (over 27 years ago), who mentioned that he'd never forgive me for what I did to him. I honestly don't recall what I did to him, and I responded saying as much. He never wrote back.

I had a woman at work mad at me for for several months and I had no idea why. I did ask and she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about but it was obvious to all that she was upset at me. Thankfully, she is now over whatever I (assuredly, unintentionally) did. It is quite disconcerting, to say the least, to not even know what one has done to offend someone.
