disheartening
when we were in the minority, the republicans never practiced bipartisanship and we were shut out by the opposing team.
Now, when we're in the majority, we are practicing bipartisanship and bending like a willow in the wind and we're still getting shut out by the opposing team.

The left in this country outnumbers the right in voters, but we are NEVER represented by either side. We are villified by the right, and told to shut up by the centrists.

very disheartening. I'm very very sad for this country. I don't see a way out of this at all with the current power structure.

I'm glad Obama won, but its a pyrhhic victory if we continue to promote the policies of his predecessor.

that is all I had to say. I'm a little depressed by the situation, and a little bit annoyed at the DLC infiltrations into what should be a party of the people.

2. I've moved past disgust at this point, as I seem to have accepted the inevitability
I feel like I did when I celebrated Clinton's election and then he instituted DADT.

Which essentially made it HARDER for gays in the military. IMHO it was not a compromise

3. DADT did not make it harder for gays in the military.
That is just stupid drivel.

4. did it make them accepted?
it did not. It made them in constant fear of revealing themselves. How is that not harder?

5. Good grief.

Do you actually think they were not in constant fear before 1993?

It was far worse - you could beat or even kill any fellow member of the military and use as your defense that he/she was gay. That would get you off the hook as that was a justifiable reason and the officers would always help with the cover up.

Are you gay?

Edit: I hope you are not gay because it drives me crazy when members of the GLBT community are so misinformed and unaware of their own history.
