I actually want to thank that greedy mother fucker named Lieberman |
|
I'm the person the always defending the senate bill as long as some kind of public option came along with it. A weak public option would by no means be perfect but it would be a good start and with that start it would be easier to expend on it down the road. This bill always had some good things and some bad things. I was willing to accept the bad things for the public option.
Now there will be no public option and congress will mendate that I buy insurance from a private company, costing me an insane amount of money. So with the public option gone I am glad Joe Lieberman will block this bill even if his reasons for doing so are completely corrupt. This will leave the democrats with 2 options, no bill at all or a bill that gets passed using budget reconciliation. If using budget reconciliation they will have no excuse for putting up a weak public option.

1. If we HAVE to use RECONCILIATION Why not pass a real SINGLE PAYER bill? They forced us to do it. |

3. Trying to predict what will come out of the perverse process and entity known as Congress is an |

exercise in tea-leaf reading, as far as I can tell. The predicted outcome is more defined by our wishes and expectations than the "thought process" exhibited by the schmucks in DC. I also think they make it complicated and unfathomable precisely so that they can put whatever language in that they want to "accomplish" their objectives and those of their owners. Just think how much "dancing" around (whatever) the facts (are) has gone on with the health care/insurance "reform" farce. It would be harder for your Rep. or Sen. to lie so easily if the bill was a simple, one-page instruction for the government to administer and finance (through taxes) a healthcare system. As to where this mess will wind up, who the hell knows? And that is just the way they like it, because after confusion comes abandonment.
