Rep. Alan Grayson to Read 100,000 Signature Petition Calling for No Funding for Afghan Escalation

WASHINGTON - December 14 - Just two weeks after President Obama announced an additional troop surge for the war in Afghanistan, Brave New Foundation, CREDO Mobile, and True Majority collected upwards of 100,000 signatures on a petition calling for an end to the war. Congressman Alan Grayson will read the petition on the House floor. He will then join members of Veterans for Rethinking Afghanistan at a news conference.

With the waning support for the war in Afghanistan, the petition signatures were gathered in record speed, signaling a strong anti-war sentiment in the American public.

Were congress to cut funding for this invasion and occupation it would be an amazing moment for representative democracy.

Right now, after Obama's Nobel speech, the world is rightly afraid again of America. For a few brief months the world thought the era of Bushco threats had ended.

Were congress to send a shot of peace across the bow of the MIC the world would breathe a sigh of relief. 'Twould be a shot heard and loved around the world!!
