1. He won't have to.
The POS the Senate is producing cannot be reconciled with the House bill.

12. in that case, he definitely shouldn't filibuster
They'd be like, wtf dude:

In the House of Representatives, the filibuster (the right to unlimited debate) was used until 1842, when a permanent rule limited the duration of debate. The disappearing quorum was a tactic used by the minority until an 1890 rule eliminated it. As the membership of the House grew much larger than the Senate, the House has acted earlier to control floor debate and the delay and blocking of floor votes.

19. Yes. They also should learn how to spell it.
That's okay, I once lost a school spelling bee because I'd never heard the word phillibuster before!

10. No. It's a waste of his political capital.

Both parties favor limiting care mainly to the insurance co's which most Americans love. The public is too stoopid to be saved
right now. Don't waste your capital, Dennis.

economic systems.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington ruined politics.

20. As usual your grasp of realities is strained
No such thing in the House, only the Senate, and Dennis Kucinich is a Representative, from the House of Representatives. Which is not the Senate.

21. There are no filibusters in the House.
At best, Kucinich might be able to make some delaying maneuvers, though I doubt he could even do that.

22. Its somewhat disheartening that some people here are so uninformed about the process
Edited on Mon Dec-14-09 04:32 PM by onenote
After all this is a forum dedicated to the discussion of political/policy/legislative matters. While I recognize that most people don't know all of the ins and outs of the legislative process, knowing that filibusters are a unique feature of the Senate seems like a pretty basic point, given as often as filibusters have been discussed here over the years.

But it goes to show that if folks here don't understand the process, imagine how clueless the average person is.

29. He cannot filibuster, since there is no filibuster in the House.
And at this point, one cannot even say how one thinks he should vote, since there is as yet no Senate bill, so no conference bill.
