Former Chairman of the DLC Joe Lieberman is just doing his job...
..protecting Corporate Profits at the expense of the Working Class and The Poor.

That IS WHAT the DLC does.
THAT is WHY the DLC exists.

Joe Lieberman is merely taking one for the DLC Team because he has nothing left to lose.

The DLC New Team
Republican Lite ONLY
Working Class Democrats Need NOT Apply

15. "New Democrat" is a synonym for DLC...
...or "Blue Dog".
The "I am a New Democrat" quote came from the DLC Website.

http://www.dlc.org/ndol_ci.cfm?contentid=254931&kaid=85&subid=900184

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans. I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."---Paul Wellstone

7. Yes, he was Obama's mentor, and is giving him cover now.
I think he's just being the bad cop b/c he can afford to take hit points from Progressives who already hate him. Obama cannot. I believe Politico's story today b/c it's consistent with the last 6 months from the WH.

and do you dispute they were not campaign slogans. I got about 100 rally signs with the words at my house.

12. Hey is that Hillary Clinton's picture? I thought she was well respected and admired by many DUers
Edited on Mon Dec-14-09 04:39 PM by NJmaverick
I didn't know she was one of those evil DLCers that saved the Democratic party.

Oh and is Joe still a member of the DLC? Just asking becaue you know facts do matter.

14. Hi. I was expecting you!
YES! That IS a picture of Hillary.
Most of us at DU who were paying attention were well aware of Hillary's association with the DLC, and THAT prompted many of us to go with Obama after all the Liberals were eliminated (that and Obama's opposition to individual mandates for Health Insurance. LOL that didn't last long, did it? Well Played, Barack!).

Here is a picture of Hillary's support at DU while there were still Liberals in the race:

At least there was a chance that Obama was not a corporatist.
Some of us were suspicious when a rookie Senator from Chicago showed up at the Iowa Caucus with a $100MIllion Dollars AND an Up & Running Political Machine, but by then it was too late to really do anything.

If you read my OP, you probably just glossed over the phrase "Former Chairman of the DLC", but you don't really believe that makes any REAL difference do you?

Do you really believe that Lieberman no longer associates with his former bosses at the DLC?

Do you really believe that the DLC was NOT instrumental in helping their former chairman end run the Party electoral process and sneak in through the Old Boy's Back Door to the Senate?

You don't really believe that.
Come on now.
You are just spinning your wheels and throwing a bunch of gravel and smoke into the air, aren't you.
