Well, he was hit with a model.

Pointy, isn't it.

Ouch.

It's an amazingly beautiful structure. My wife and I had dinner in a sidewalk cafe directly across the Piazza from it as the sun was setting.

Edited to add a photo taken from our dinner table:

2. what you reckon all those points the way too
how fucked you've been all these years giving your hard earned dollars to the lord for a down payment on the heaven with the golden streets?

Sorry but i just don't get it that anyone would choose to believe that of which is based on just believing.

3. If he'd been hit with the ACTUAL cathedral
that would've been the most dramatic exorcism ever!

4. 40 years ago, three friends and i toured europe, eurailpass and all that....
we were just out of high school...and outside the Milan cathedral, which is breathtaking in person, 400 years to build and all that, one of my friends was handed a bag of bird feed by some guy, the pigeons swarmed (flocked, whatever it is that they do) my friend, and the Italian guy started taking pictures...

the next thing we knew, the photographer and another guy hustled our friend off to the side and down into the underground shopping area right at the cathedral...we finally caught up to him (and them) in a small, and surprisingly stylish, photography gallery...where a couple of other bigger guys were showing my friend proofs of the pictures of him, the birds and the cathedral, and 'asking' him how many copies of which pictures he wanted...

we were living on approximately $10 a day, and my friend 'decided' to purchase $25 or $30 worth of photos...made the payment, filled out some order forms...and then we all got to leave...

nice scam, no arm-twisting (i think my friend 'relented' before any demonstration of physical persuasion was exercised)...beginning right out in front of the Milan cathedral...

on a side note, and unbelievably, my friend received a package of photos, at college in Kansas of all places, about 3 months later...maybe it wasn't a scam after all, just a little Italian sales technique we hadn't been previously exposed to...
