On Baldwin: This whole country should talking to each other as if they are being recorded |
|
Edited on Sat Apr-21-07 06:53 PM by Snotcicles
I have a son who will be doing his second tour in Iraq in August. We don't have a conversation anymore where there isn't something, I recall I once said to him that I don't beg him to take back. So before I judge someone else, I try to remember the score is tallied at the end of the game, not in the middle.

4. Yep. The public is not allowed to know even who attended Cheney's Energy Task Force meeting ... |

... or anything they said, but we get hammered with that voicemail hourly for 2-3 days. I question the sanity of any talking head self-righteously posturing over that message and ignoring Cheney's secrecy, any American who thinks it's OK to have that voicemail made public and Cheney's meeting with crony privateers kept secret. This country has gone batshit stupid.

5. Ding, ding, ding!!! very true- perhaps the most important thing |
|
we could all take from so much of what is going on in the world, is to live each moment to the fullest, and as if it WERE our last-
That doesn't make it "hey everything goes"- When we're wrong- the only real hope we have of doing better next time, is being reminded or 'called out' on our mistakes- not with a message calling names: "rude little pig" or with veiled threats : needing to be "straightened out"-
Being asked to examine our behaviour and the effects it has on others, and encouraged to meet our own 'goal' in the future is a positive step.
I am sad to hear your son will be heading back over there- I wish you both comfort, safety, and strength-
