The OOs - "Decade from Hell" - Time Magazine
Edited on Sat Dec-19-09 07:40 PM by SpiralHawk
"As the first decade of the 21st Century draws to a close, Time has taken a look back and concluded that it is the "worst decade ever"

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/25/decade-from-hell-time_n_371041.html

The 00 decade will forever be remembered as the Decade of Republicon FAIL. Republicons worshiped their Chickenhawk-in-Chief, Commander AWOL Bush -- and his supporting cast of VP Dickie 'FiveMilitary-Deferments' Cheney, and a Fat Phalanx of overpaid republicon propagandist Chickenhawks (Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, Beck, etc.) -- as they laid a diabolical strategery of FAIL. The republicon homelanders followed it to perfection -- thereby flushing down the crapper America's safety, economy, environment, honor, and dignitude.

Time doesn't phrase it quite that way -- but they could.

NOTA BENE: The Decade depicted on the cover is wearing republicon diapers, eternally emblematic of Republicon Family Values.

3. I wonder what a review of Time's covers might show?
Did they think this past decade was the worst ever while it was happening in real time? I seem to recall that they were quite giddy as the war with Iraq was cranking up. And the housing bubble, which any sentient person with a smattering of economic training could see was a major problem (which is to say that I really didn't, but I read the prescient columns written by people who did know what they were looking at).

18. That was my first thought as well.
They seemed pretty supportive of Bush when he was in office, at least his first 6 or 7 years...

4. Frankly, the Decade From Hell looks to be on track to keep on sucking well into the next decade.
No thanks to the Dems.

10. The Repubbies set things up to FAIL
and the dems are just, more or less, going along meekly with the strategery...backasswards into the fUturE...

9. Do you guys remember where you were on New Year's Day 2000?
I was sitting on my back porch, drinking a Mimosa, reading the Chronicle and scrutinizing the date--the first time I saw 2000 in print! Bill Clinton was still president, we still had money in the American Coffers, it was 70 degrees in San Francisco, and I thought life was simply awesome.

By the end of the month, 3 of my friends had died in a plane crash. By the end of the year, my democracy had died at the hands of the Supreme Court.

The decade (Decayed???) went downhill from there!!!

16. One of the few times I agree with Time
This has been one shitty decade. Bush stealing the election, 9/11, Afghanistan, Iraq, the reassertion of the Gilded Age, the financial meltdown.

And those are just the "lowlights".

Maybe the next decade will be better.

Maybe.

20. Who can blame this...
9/11, two illegal and unjust occupations and wars, Hurricane Katrina, that bastard Bush and his cronies, the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression?

This is the WORST decade EVER!
