Edited on Tue Dec-22-09 05:24 PM by AlinPA
and even some celebrations that it was coming to pass. That seems to have been replaced with strong anti-Obama sentiment and almost a cheering section of DU'ers who may be eager to celebrate any problems that Obama may have politically because of disappointments with the HCR bill. My problem is that it seems that this should help the republicans recover from their fall. I am not about to call our fellow DU’ers who express their frustrations names like teabaggers, etc. I’m sure we all have some problems with the HCR bill, in my case it is the implementation time is too long (e.g., 2014). With all my respect to all sincere DUers let’s try to stick together.

added right paren.

1. Obama is doing what the republicans want done.
If the pukes disappeared altogether as a party, that wouldn't make any real difference in this country as long as their stand-ins keep following orders.

2. Maybe there IS a consequence of Rahm taking the left for granted after all.
Because when he goes around in broad daylight bragging that progressives have nowhere else to go, he's ignoring the consequences of his actions that you've outlined in your post. Actions have consequences. Rahm has oversimplified the political climate because he's an arrogant, narcissistic idiot.

10. He is seriously wrong, and I am sort of worried that Obama takes his guidance.
I am also worried we might really be as irrelevant as he thinks.

19. Rahm is Obama's water carrier
He works for Obama doing what Obama wants. Everything Rahm does and says comes directly from Obama. That's Rahm's job and Obama likes the job he's doing. Blaming Rahm is just blaming the messanger.

21. Not if we educate the center.
It should be easy on this issue--70% of the country supported the public option, and they can easily understand in laymen's terms what is going on if we explain to them how the elites on both sides don't have our interests in mind. Everybody is receptive to that message because especially now, it rings of truth.

3. I agree. Haven't posted much lately because of those attacks.
I know what I want in the health care bill. And many things aren't there. Many. But there are good provisions in the bill, too, and what do many expect to happen with the Rethuglicans acting the way they are and the fact we're stuck with the Nelsons and Stupaks on the Dem side in Congress? Plus, that little 60-vote thing.

Anyway, good luck, and don't take the inevitable attacks that are coming personally, even if they are intended as such.

5. That little 60 vote thing was self-imposed. Would've been meaningless if Obama wasn't on the side
of those who were threatening to filibuster their own party.

Again, Obama came down on the side of Dems who were threatening to filibuster their own party. What does that tell you about his long term M.O.?

If you can't handle my criticism of the President, maybe this isn't the site for you.

22. He talked about inevitable personal attacks. I was pointing out my attacks weren't personal.
He was taking VERY slight criticism of the President, and playing the martyr with it.

4. holding Obama to his word is not "anti-Obama sentiment"
it is expecting someone to act in good faith. When they don't, you have to call them on it. Otherwise, they feel they can do so with impunity.

For example: If we had done what was right and tried the Bush cabal for war crimes, maybe Obama wouldn't be all hot and heavy for Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Obama, almost like what you would see on freerepublic.

7. Yeah, I'm plenty pissed at his policies
but I never make personal attacks on people. They're counter-productive, in my opinion... from either side.

So we agree on that. :hi:

Given how Management perception is the foundation of this failed democratic experiment

8. I think the people who hate Obama for not doing 100% what they want him to do are funny.
They think their pet issue is more important than anything in the world yet you can't hold a conversation with them about it because they don't understand any issues more than black and white.

14. Obama Loss of Popularity
Obama wants to squeeze the rich. The rich own the media. Watch
the media for subliminal suggestions of Obama failure. Last
week I caught MSNBC with a caption at the bottom right of the
screen saying "Whats gone wrong?" next to a picture
of the President.

Watch for words like controversy, and other negative words
when you listen to these news reports.

If I wanted a mandate to funnel money to corps, I'd vote republican.
