Are there any interesting primary races anywhere? |
|
The choices we have in November 2010 are dictated by the choices we make in Spring 2010.
For all the rage directed at the folks at Capitol Hill, there's surprisingly little discussion here of the specifics of replacing them with people more willing to serve the public effectively. So can anybody give names of people in their neck of the woods who are challenging an underperfomer in Washington? In particular folks who have broad enough appeal to win the general election in November?
Here in Kansas City, Missouri, it'll be a pretty boring Spring from a political standpoint. Rep. Cleaver does a pretty good job of representing the people's interests in the House. The candidate for the open Senate seat will most likely be Robin Carnahan, who may be a bit moderate for a lot of people's tastes here, but she represents a dramatic improvement over Kit Bond, who currently holds the seat, and Roy Blunt, her likely opponent in the general. She's probably the only non-Republican with a well developed enough organization to beat Blunt.
How do things look in your backyard?

1. very exciting in Los Angeles. Marcy Winograd running for Congress against Jane Harman! |
|
Marcy is one of the best people I have ever met. She is kind, a great human being, and has spectacular politics. I would like to be more like her. a role model. She always fights the good fight no matter what that means. She is fearless. She is thoughtful, and never takes the easy way out. She is against the war, for single-payer healthcare, for the rights of all people, and would make one of the best COngresspeople ever!!! if you can, support her at windograd4congress. I have no money to donate, but plan to walk door to door to spread the news that it is Marcy's time!!! She will actually REPRESENT US!

|
Current Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner
vs
Current Lieutenant Governor Lee Fisher
Going for Brunner in this race....Fisher would be more of what we have in DC already...Centrist Dems, thanks but no.
