Walmart sued for bathroom surveillance |
|
Edited on Sun Dec-27-09 01:01 AM by charlie
Save money. Live better. Get naked. Say "cheese". ...Several employees discovered an "off-the-shelf" video camera in a store bathroom March 31, 2008, according to the court filing. The unisex bathroom, which also served as a changing room, was used by employees and customers. Customers and employees were not notifed of the surveillance, according to the court filing.
"I am incredulous that anyone would think that it's appropriate conduct for any reason to photograph people in a changing room and bathroom," said Erv McLain, the plaintiffs' attorney.

1. Hey... they own the store... |
|
Why shouldn't they own everything that happens therein?

3. I expect that I'm on camera when trying on clothes. |

Any expectations to the contrary are naive. But why care if some stranger watches me get naked? If it bothered me I could purchase the garments and try them on in the privacy of my home, then return what doesn't fit. But I don't care. It's not like the watcher is in the dressing room with me.

Hell, I do a little strip-tease dance for the watchers when I'm trying stuff on.

11. I have always been very modest. I even put clothes on after I shower while in the bathroom and |
|
my bathroom is i my bedroom. Just how I am.
And I don't try them on at the store. I do just what you said. :)

4. Doesn't surprise me in the least |

I hope the employees prevail. You'd think if it is proved the employer put the camera there, they'd at least be a little more careful about hiding it.
On a lighter note, if they are watching people in changing rooms, sex just got much more fun.

9. there's not really enough info in the article to assume the camera was aimed at the toilet(s). |
|
btw- would it be okay to watch the ones taking small dumps?
