At this point in time I don't know how anyone can believe in politicians
They don't even come close to living in the same world most deal with.

Many have been sitting in some office for decades and what have they done for the average american worker other than to promise things just to keep their seat of luxury?

Do you actually think they are even aware you exist other than a number count consisting of the population?

They play the odd's at the peoples expense. They have a job and insurance and a pension for life many working class heros don't have either , many never will come close.

I don't view anyone of them as some idol of hero , many break the constitution and laws and get away with it without a fine where if you of I stole a candy bar we would be facing fines and jail time.

Just how do they get off acting like they are some higher power looking down their noses , taking all they can grab while we sit here looking for crumbs .

I did at one time long ago have some respect for a few of them but now they can all go F off.

One would think using all rational and common sense that if anyone of them took bribs or payoffs that should be their last day and go directly to jail but NO , they continue to live a life where one of them has more than thousands of the common people they use as a sidewalk .

They can take their health ins scam and cram it where the sun don't shine. They can take their high self centered profile and take it to hell.

Without the commom people they or the corporations they take handouts fro would not even exist.

They profit off the peoples backs and it's time we get them off our back for the free ride.

If I were religious like many of them claim to be I would worry every night that hell would be just one breath away.

The only thing they understand is expand and take without conscience and to get their hapless face on the cover of some cheap useless magazine, yet thay all shit and piss and eat and sleep and breath air just like anyone of the people they use and act like they are above it all.

It's the peoples white house and the peoples capital not theirs Don't let them forget it.

I can only imagine the slave labor that built these buildings they take for granted and then say it's the Obama or Bush white house , well it is NOT!

Every piece of historic furnature , every door or pane of glass was made by some nameless hard working american and we look up to them.

10. The hard reality and truth is not very positive now is it?
Name one american of any decade who was real and did not rail against the politicans and the powers that we allow to be. Name one who did not attempt to expose the truth or warn the people.

What do you consider positive these days after the entire history of this country being re-written to make it sound great?

What is positive about the wars we rage or the the theft we have done as a country and hope , no one gives you that , it either comes from within or it does not exist other than a fantasy or dream.

I hoped long ago that many of me friends would return home from vietnam alive and well , I hoped that all people would never see war again , I hoped that I would never see another person living on the street and now I see hope as it really is and positive is a state of denile until the day may come that we see this insanity end once and for all.

17. But all you find is the negative. Probably reading DU isn't helping you
at this point. But read this, and know this president, unlike the last, is attempting to right many wrongs that we experienced through the past 8 years. First off, he's trying to clean up the mess idiot son made. Is he perfect? Absolutely not. But at least his heart and his head are trying to do the right things. To me, that's something to embrace and not bemoan that nothing has ever been done or is or will be done right, til the end of time.

Some Folks at Democratic Underground want us deflated...
They also probably would rather we didn't vote in 2010!

That way they can "show" us,
and say...."told you so!"

That would make them right,
and we all know, that the overarching goal over anything else.

30. Will you get over yourself
DU has 151,000 members, spread around the country. Of that, maybe 5000 people read a post. The most read post on GD right now has been read by 4409 people. That is barely enough to sway a City Council Race in 2010 let alone a congressional race, assuming everyone is deflated.

Step away from the keyboard and take a deep breath.

20. You know what I question why you or Frenchie even read or reply
To my posts, Really , what does that make you? Is there some magic force that compells you to chime in when it does seem you know damn well what my posts will most likey contain.

If you want to ride the hope train be my guest I have never come along trying to steer your posts to my way of seeing things.

Really I ask , what the hell have you seen become better over the decades that makes you think Obama has your back anymore than any other admim. Many have come and gone and left us worse off yet all most do here is look at GW , well he was just tip of what the people of this country are willing to take .They test the limits and Obama does the same thing.

It is not some admin that will affect the change we need it is the people and no pres has what it takes to do this change we need.

Heah , If you want to believe that go ahead and am not telling you what to do , I am, expressing my own opinion based on 6 decades of crap that gets deeper and deeper by the month.

So please if you feel the need to off set my personal opinion of reality go join those who see things as you do but leave me out of it.

Better yet come back when Obama has his term end and then tell me about all the change and hope if I'm still alive.

You have your opinion based on Obama from what , do you know him on a personal level? Or is this all based on the belief you need to see and hope for. And don't give me blog sites I see many and it's all based on someones idea and rules of their damn blog , it means nothing.

I have yet to see a group of "political" activists over the past 50 years who did not seek a position or a step toward a degree or education credits and an easy ride and I have been around many of them , each on the first day is asked to tell why they are joining and the story remains the same.

23. Like you, I think Obama has good ideas, but IMO he has too much stacked up
against him and he realized that after he became president and is now forced to "play the game" to at least get some things accomplished even if quite far from the best approach... And a lot of problems are with the democratic congress not a small number of whom are more akin to republicans, and then we also have the likes of Joe Lieberman.

As such, there is a need to set the record straight. What most impresses me is the fact that Obama has accomplished so much not from a heavy-handed or top-down approach but from a style that has institutionalized efforts to reach across the aisle, encourage vigorous debate, and utilize town halls and panels of experts in the policy-making process. Beyond the accomplishments, the process is good for democracy and our democratic processes have been battered and bruised in recent years.
Let me know if I missed anything in the list (surely I did).

I have seen lists for decades that have faded into memory that looked better than this. Yet today almost 2010 we are worse off and it was not just GW or Reagan.

I'll give you ONE example . In 1961 when I was in Jr High we had science expo's after school . GM stopped by and showed us a working car that ran on electric motors off solar power and were told in 10 "ten" years this is what we would be driving. I am still waiting so please spare me the blog lists of endless insane none sense. Been there, done that , got the union , Made in USA cotton T-shirt, so spare me the lists.

Let me know when we stop bombing countries to take their resource and creating the reason the terrorists exist in the first place. Tell me if it were not for oil we would even be talking about Iraq or Afghanistan or Iran. Tell me why we went to Vietnam and what we gained there.

You are so far off base that who's on third does not even exist anymore.

34. This was a big one that was broken....
Negotiate health care reform in public sessions televised on C-SPAN

To achieve health care reform, "I'm going to have all the negotiations around a big table. We'll have doctors and nurses and hospital administrators. Insurance companies, drug companies -- they'll get a seat at the table, they just won't be able to buy every chair. But what we will do is, we'll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN, so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies. And so, that approach, I think is what is going to allow people to stay involved in this process."
