it's definitely easier to walk around with a camera filming things than coordinating search and rescue, giving medical aid, and providing other forms of humanitarian assistance.

generator, but security, food, water and sleeping gear for the crew (at least). I don't expect the media to do anything more than report and be our eyes. I am glad they are there.
I'm not busting on the media for doing what we want of them. Not at all. They are not emergency first responders or aid providers. They are the story-tellers that motivate the world to help.
