Palin: Fox gig doesn't close the door to 2012
Posted: January 15th, 2010 08:46 AM ET

(CNN) - Despite speculation from some political observers that Sarah Palin has ruled out a 2012 presidential bid in favor of a television career at Fox news, the former Alaska governor said all options still remain on the table.

Appearing Thursday night on Fox News - where Palin is now a formal contributor - Palin dismissed predictions her television deal means she has closed the door to a presidential bid:

"You know, I'm not going to close any doors for my future, for my family's future - don't know what's in the future, what it holds, but between now and whenever a big decision has to be made, I'm gonna do all that I can to help our country get back on the right track, and that's to get a message out there about solutions that I believe and a whole lot of Americans believe need to be plugged in," said the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.

And, run on sentences. Also.

1. If she rules out a run, the donations will stop.
Isn't SaraPAC still functioning?

My fear is that this woman will never go away.

19. I agree. I don't think she's capable of generating fresh content without blowing up
She really burns through staff pretty quickly and is constantly leaving new disgruntled ex-employees in her wake. She's gonna have staff issues at Fox and I'm convinced Glenn Beck does not like her at all. There's going to be knives out for her inside the Fox building. This will end ugly.

5. Palin is a trial buffoon
Drawing our fire and attention away from the real candidates so they can continue to prepare their campaigns.

6. Very true - however, nobody has told her yet
As another poster has pointed out, she can't stand that much exposure. The more you see of her the stupider you realize she actually is.

It doesn't take a tinfoil hat to realize what's going on here. Fox is part of the plan to keep her front and center for awhile until even dumbass republican primary voters catch on to the fact that she is a complete idiot. Then they'll cut her loose, and any credibility she ever had will be shot, leaving room for the serious candidates to move in.

Meanwhile, she'll happily appear as a permanent guest on all the foxster's shows, blissfully unaware that every time she opens her mouth her electability drops another notch.

The really funny part of this whole thing is, I don't think most of the fox "personalities" even realize this themselves. I don't think the real bottom feeders like hanity and those three subhumans on the morning show will ever catch on. From watching the video of her debut on the billo show, I think o'reilly may have figured it out however. His interview definitely did not do her any favors.

It's gonna be fun watching her twist slowly in the wind.

13. This "job" is a way for Murdock to funnel huge amounts of $$$ to the Palin campaign
with out the FEC being able to stop him. Don't even count the value of giving her a TV station to run her campaign from.

17. The FEC is a really toothless tiger.
Even if it wanted to (which it most assuredly does not), Murdock would easily find a way to skirt its restrictions and keep pumping Caribou Barbie up for as lomg as its in his best (read $$$) interests to do so.

18. I was thinking the opposite. I'm guessing Murdoch wants to see if she'll fuck up on the air
Inevitably, I think the exposure is going to be bad for her. Instead of being someone out giving speeches who people are clamoring to get an interview with, she's going to have to be scrambling herself to come up with something fresh and original to talk about (or new ways to talk about old stuff) on a weekly basis. Given her habit of burning through staff pretty quickly, I just don't see how she can handle the discipline of a gig like this.

Two years from now conservatives are going to be looking back at this moment, shaking their heads, and saying "what the hell were we thinking."

20. She'll have writers to craft her material
and she'll read off a *gasp* teleprompter. She doesn't write her op-ed pieces or tweets or facebook posts. She's just an empty shell for Murdock and others to pour their opinions into and for the low information voters to project their jollies onto. There's no there there.
