Why has the M$M - even the so-called "Librul Media" - all but declared Brown the winner??!?! |
|
Edited on Mon Jan-18-10 12:20 PM by Liberal_Stalwart71
The M$M is cheering Brown on and making Coakley dead on arrival. It's making me very ill.
Democrats, put your anger against Obama aside. This race isn't about him; it's about preserving the legacy and spirit of Ted Kennedy!
Get your fucking act together. Get on the phone. Get out on the streets. Do something!!!!!!!

1. Saw an article on Huffingtonpost |
|
which declared Brown the winner too. Quite discouraging! I hope these reports are wrong and Coakley wins. C'mon Mass.....get out and vote D.

|
It's what they do and the rest of us must just stand and watch. to quote and "unidentified Bush spokesperson."

3. they are trying to create a self-fulfilling prophecy |
|
I hope it backfires and fires up the Democrats on election day.
The scary thing is that even in Massachusetts there might be a lot of sheep who will go with the supposed flow. "Well, if everybody else is voting for Brown, I guess I should too."

11. I'm hoping that this will work as reverse psychology. Perhaps the prospect of a Brown win |
|
will galvanize MA Dems.
My phone banking session went well today. Got mostly Coakley supporters. Some Brown supporters. Some undecideds.
I'm calling from Maryland, by the way, where I live.

4. Because he's cute and exciting and strings together "cute anti-establishment phrases" - |
|
From a cursory look over his record, he's glitter - a beauty queen. Involved in "a conflict for the future of America" - which in all honesty, he should never have gotten within decades of getting to the point he is. Glitter sells, and "conflict" excites, no matter how shallow or manufactured it is. How did Romney get elected? Get out on your phone banks, and stress substance over glitter. He's cute, but so is a slick stockbroker or other salesman of crap.

9. The Republicans are so great at catch phrases and paperback slogans. It makes me so jealous |

sometimes. Why can't Democrats do a better job at selling their candidates? Why can't they do better framing the narrative and setting the terms of the debate?

8. That will only mobilize more democratic voters |
|
It really will - there has been such complacency about this race (until recently a LOT of people didn't even know that the election was this Tuesday).
And, as an aside, the people I know who aren't voting for Coakley but abstaining, they are doing it because of Coakley. I am reluctantly supporting her but there are many legitimate concerns people have about Coakley as a Senator. This is a lesser of two evil thing for me but if you want to mobilize the base, best give them something to vote FOR

15. Yeah, it seems as though the Dems kind of snoozed on this |
|
one. And honestly, from an outsider's POV, I just assumed any Dem in MA would be 1)Really good in the Teddy mode, and 2) a sure win. So if I were there I'd sure as hell get my ass to the polls. THEN work on getting another Dem to maybe run against her if she disappoints once in office. But gotta get her in that seat first and foremost.
But again, I'm disappointed we didn't see this coming. The Repubs seem to be all over everything, we seem to have faith in the people to 'do what's right'. Or something.
I'm hoping for the best!

14. I just remember the lead-up |
|
to 2008. I got the feeling the media like pushing the idea of a close election. It made for good tv in that it gave them something to talk about.
Were there any media folks predicting a FL win for Obama? An Ohio win? A NC win? Indiana? The Polls were close enough to give MSM plenty of room to speculate.
I was so stressed out on election day that I couldn't really grasp the fact that Obama was going to win until they actually called it at 8 PM PST.
If the Democrats lose this seat it's because they didn't GOTV.

17. Why are they doing it? |
|
Because they're lazy, and making up shit is a lot easier than reporting, which requires fact gathering and stuff. Booo-ring!
